  11. FontMonger™, a type conversion and modification product for the Apple
  12. Macintosh. FontMonger’s retail price is $99.95.

  14.    FontMonger is a simple-to-use application that provides type format
  15. conversion in any direction among PostScript® Type 1 fonts, PostScript Type 3
  16. fonts and TrueType™ fonts. FontMonger contains proprietary hinting algorithms
  17. which are applied during the conversion process. This provides “the
  18. highest-quality screen and printer characters for each type format,” stated
  19. Ernie Brock, Vice President of Ares Software Corporation. “These algorithms
  20. have been under development for two years.”

  22.    FontMonger contains a range of unique type transformation capabilities.
  23. Characters from various typefaces can be combined into a single font. This
  24. provides immediate access to widely-used characters directly from the keyboard.
  25. Small cap and oblique typefaces can be created from an existing typeface by
  26. applying new  height/width proportions or slant transformations.
